The Lab Showcase is a set of custom-made display furniture for the Critical Media Lab. The showcase works as a small-scale exhibition unit, for presenting on-going and complete projects, or displaying other curated selections such as a thematic library. It stands permanently in the Lab, as a kind of “welcome desk”, enabling visitors to learn about the institute’s various research activities and publications. The grid of horizontal slats of wood, with corresponding elements and fixtures, allows for quick and flexible reconfigurations.

The showcase was designed by our very own Joseph Popper and Moritz Greiner-Petter, and built with the great help of product designer Tomas Ribas and our inhouse workshops. It takes up the formal language of storage furniture for industrial materials, finished in the Lab’s signature turquoise color (RAL 6034, to be precise).
