Jonas Kellermeyer – Junior Researcher

Jonas Kellermeyer is a cultural critic and a junior researcher at the Institute of Experimental Design and Media Cultures. He is currently pursuing his PhD within the SNSF-funded project Paradigms of UbiComp.

He finished his Master in “Culture, Arts & Media” at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg in early 2019 with a thesis concerning “Gestures and Control”. During his time as a graduate student, he was working as a research assistant in the DFG-funded project “Media and Participation”, more precisely in the subproject 1, called “Elements of a Critical Theory of Media and Participation”. In this capacity, he organized and took part in workshops and was deeply involved in the whole research process as such, combining media theory and critical philosophy.

His interests lie in the field of translation between different logics. Interfaces – understood as fundamental translational structures that make it possible to bridge gaps and amplify them at the same time – and their relevance in relation to (human and non-human) perception, are his main concern.
