Shift Register heads to Ars Electronica this year for a discussion and walk by Critical Media Lab Basel researcher Jamie Allen and communication designer Merle Ibach.

The discussion with Jamie and Merle is about Shift Register, specifically focusing on experimental outputs and publications being generated through artistic research work undertaken. The sessions in Linz also include an invitation for a discussion and a walk around the “Chemiepark”, a site of historic importance in the chemical-industrial drivers of anthropogenic planetary change and the shifts of scale, infrastructure, material, experience registered and interrogated by the Shift Register project. Materials and informations gathered will form part of forthcoming project outputs and exhibition work, interested to uncover the topic of “nitrogen fixation” as a chemical and natural history of anthropogenic nitric compounds.
