Moulding the Human Being
In this session IXDM’s junior researcher Leonie Häsler will present current research questions of her PhD-project about the design process in the textile industry and its material manifestation. The project investigates concepts of seriality, copy, samples and patterns regarding the tension between innovation and tradition in the fashion industry. Leonie’s central research object is the comprehensive archive and collection of the Swiss textile company Hanro.
Other than usual we will have a field trip to the Hanro Collection in Liestal (about 20 minutes away from Basel by train), which is still placed on the former factory site. We will meet directly at the archive at 10.30. For those who will travel from Basel, we will take the train at 9:47 am from platform 7 Basel SBB.
