For the last months, we hosted visual communication student Florian Kaeser at the lab to work on his graduation project. He experimented with a media technology destined to slowly become obsolete: old split-flap displays from the Swiss Federal Railways. For the project, he refurbished the original elements into programmable display units of various configurations.
