Invisible Threads: Technology and Its Discontents

The Art Gallery at NYUAD’s autumn exhibition, entitled Invisible Threads: Technology and Its Discontents will feature Critical Media Lab Basel Senior Researcher Jamie Allen’s project The Lie Machine. The exhibit is designed to showcase some of the most interesting artwork being made today around the topic of the individual’s experience with technology, and Jamie’s project is a critical, media archaeological recreation of a 1970’s vintage lie detection technical object, a Voice Stress Analysis machine.

The exhibition features artist Ai Weiwei, Jamie Allen, Aram Bartholl, Taysir Batniji, Wafaa Bilal, Liu Bolin, Jonah Brucker Cohen, Heather Dewey-Hagborg, Michael Joaquin Grey, Monira Al Qadiri, Evan Roth, Phillip Stearns, Siebren Versteeg, Addie Wagenknecht and Kenny Wong.
