Critical Media Lab Researcher Selected for Traill Fellowship in Canada

The Trent University department of Cultural Studies in Peterborough, Canada has announced its selection of Critical Media Lab Senior Researcher Jamie Allen as this year’s Traill Fellow.

The prestigious fellowship is hosted by Trent’s Catharine Parr Traill College, a close knit, downtown community campus occupying a collection of 19th Century colonial style houses, founded in the 1960’s as the university’s first women’s college. The fellowship undertaken by Jamie Allen will investigate “the North” as a conceptual, media, communications, and military-technological infrastructure, “its use and abuse… as a vast protectorate from which signals and warnings from the past and for the future seem to perenially emerge.”
